Dra. Anelisa Coutinho
President of SBOC

Welcome

With over 3 thousand active members in all Brazilian states, the Brazilian Society of Clinical Oncology (SBOC) is the largest national representative of oncology care physicians. Founded in 1981 by a group of healthcare professionals who were after comprehensive knowledge to treat oncology patients, the main purpose of the SBOC is to foster new knowledge production and update, while holding scientific events as a fundamental part of its strategy to share qualified information with those performing in the field, be them beginners or experts.

The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), on its turn, is one of the most important representatives of clinical oncology worldwide, with over 35 thousand members from 172 countries, and just like the SBOC, it also seeks different new ways to foster medical oncology education, including the ESMO Summit Latin America. Conceived by the European entity, this event is a successful initiative in sharing the international experience on managing and treating main types of tumors.

In face of such common interest and supported on the long and fruitful partnership between both institutions, for the second time, SBOC and ESMO will be holding the ESMO Summit Latin America 2024 in São Paulo, Brazil, on March 22-23, 2024.

We are certain that ESMO Latin America 2024 will be a very productive event to go down in the partnership history of both our institutions. We’ll see you there!
